The flowers open soon after the early-summer sunset to display four broad petals and many long, prominent stamens. Having served their purpose in the reproduction of the species these delicate flowers will fall during the following morning.
The globular, woody fruits, which form on long stalks will soon be evident. Eventually the seeds will disperse in the open forest and germinate in the loose sandy soil.
