Lollybrush
Clerodendrum floribundum

A tall attractive shrub which occurs along the coastal lowlands and on the offshore islands of tropical Queensland.

Loose bouquets of white tubular flowers with stamens extending precede the decorative fruits. The mature fruiting calyx is deep red and supports a shining black drupe.

It has been observed that aborigines produced fire by rubbing together two dried sticks from the LOLLYBRUSH. Flowering occurs during the summer months.
