A common, attractive, and harmless snake common in the wet tropics of northern Queensland.

It is a very slender and agile snake that hunts frogs, and small reptiles and will often raid eggs of other reptiles.
Although they are relatively harmless, it is advised not to handle them, as they can be quite defensive and are likely to bite. Bites from non-venemous snakes can still present a danger of infections (plus it will likely hurt).
Although they are called green tree snakes, they can be many different colours, and one commonly seen in the Daintree Rainforest is a black form which has a black back and yellow-green belly. Unfortunately they are often mis-identified as a poisonous snake and killed.
