The fine spidery flowers, broad, glossy leaves and sweet fragrance are qualities enough to make this orchid a favourite.

It usually grows on rainforest trees and is found at least as far north as the Endeavour River. The plant grows into small clumps and has angular and somewhat drooping stems. The very short racemes may carry as many as five flowers.
Blooming in the tropics is erratic and occurs mostly between May and October.
