It is equally abundant in coastal swamp-lands and the savannah of the dry interior, occuring almost exclusively on trees with papery bark.
Well established clumps may often be encountered in full sunlight because TEA-TREE ORCHID favours high level light siuations.
The racemes may measure up to 16 cm, each bearing numerous flowers. Blooms are white or pale green near the base, shaded with pale yellow on the remainder of the sepals and petals which twist ornately. The rich mauve markings on the labellum further enhance an already very beautiful flower. Flowering usually occurs from August to October.
