It is easily spotted by the long, drooping terete leaves.
It flowers towards the end of the dry season (October - November) with flowers only lasting a few days.
When in full flower, it puts on an elegant display of drooping leaves and sprays of flowers that resemble a bridal veil (hence one of its other common names).
