Often known as the Jabiru, the Black-necked Stork is a truly impressive bird of wetland habitats.

It is often seen on Daintree River Tours, wading in the shallows.
It can grow to 1.5 metres tall and has long red legs, with a glossy black/blue head, neck, outer wings and tail, the remaining being white.
You can differentiate the male from the female by the eye colour. The female is yellow and the male is brown.
