It also occurs along the shore line where tide and rainforest meet. The large, shining leaves make this a very attractive plant but when it is in bloom it is spectacular.

A vigorous, woody climber, OCTOBER GLORY, must be one of our most beautiful native vines. The fruits resemble clean new potatoes in appearance and are relished by cassowaries.

The seed germinate readily and given shade during the heat of the day and ample water young plants make rapid progress. Propagation by cuttings is also successful.
