An appealing prostrate shrub attaining a height of about 1 metre and is found over the inland areas of Cape York Peninsula.

It flourishes under harsh conditions and relieves the hot exposed stony ridges with an amazing display of summer blooms.

Colours range from cream to dusky pink and almost scarlet. The racemes are long and carry dozens of blossoms which open progressively.

This is an ideal subject for rock gardens and borders. The seeds form within an ornate pod which turns to handsome brown upon maturity.
