An eye catching perennial growing to a height of approximately 1.5 metres.

It is widespread in the open forests of inland tropical Queensland and favours clay or similar heavy soil.
The distinctive bright-green, pinnate leaves have softening effect upon the harsh environment. The erect racemes carry numerous lilac-pink flowers which open progressively from the base. Seeds form in smooth, cylindrical pods and germinate readily.
