Also know as the `Australian Water Dragon`, Eastern Water Dragons are excellent swimmers and climbers.

They have the ability to hold their breath and site on the bottom of a creek for up to 90 minutes when avoiding predators. A handy ability when you are preyed upon from the air by raptors and from the land by snakes.
Their diet mainly consist mainly of insects, but as they grow, they will tackle rodents, frogs and other small reptiles.
They are well camouflaged on the edge of the Daintree River, as can be seen in the accompanying photos.
