This native creeper grows along tropical mainland foreshores, and on some offshore islands.

It is a vigorous climber with broad, smooth, tri-lobed leaves and has a long tendril at each leaf axil. The pale, apricot-pink buds open to become one of the most beautiful of the native passionfruit flowers.
As the flowers age they turn to a rich orange-red. This interesting colour change makes the NATIVE PASSIONFRUIT a most desirable creeper. Flowering takes place during spring and summer.
The fruits are oval berries containing many seeds with a fleshy aril.
