The WOOLLY WATER LILY is an aquatic herb and is covered with fine "down", particularly on the flower spikes.
The long, narrow pointed leaves are in tight formation at the base of the plant, with much smaller leaves and bracts distributed along the flower stems.
The flowers are bright golden-yellow but singularly they are not very showy. When massed they present a good show.
WOOLLY WATER LILY is common around the perimeter of water holes or in very damp situations along roadsides and railways. They are particularly suited to waste water disposal areas, especially where drainage is a problem.
The main flowering takes place during the summer months. Seeds germinate readily, but suckers are another useful form of propagation.
