Terek sandpiper
Xenus cinereus

Named after the river where it was first spotted, near the Caspian Sea, this is a small migratory wader often seen in shallows around the coast.

They are often found in shallow muddy areas where they hunt for food, shasing it actively and catching it with their upturned bills. Around river mouths and low shelving beaches is a great place to observe them in action.
